To eat, or not to eat meat...
That is the question - and one of the biggest conversations in the world of sustainable bloggers. While I'll admit, I'm definitely an omnivore, I accept that eating less meat is better for the environment. Since we're all about 'Progress over Perfection' here at FYF, I thought I'd bring you all along as I eat my way through some of the best vegetarian and plant-based spots in NYC (and maybe someday beyond!).
NIX (E 11 and University Pl)
Perfect for date night
NIX is a cozy and romantic vegetarian, michelin star, restaurant on the lower east side - a few blocks from Union Square. The menu consists of various hummus dips, lighter bites, and bolder dishes to share. It is recommended that you choose 2-3 items from the lighter and bold sections as each plate is meant to be shared.
We went with the falafel (MUST order), Cacio e Pepe, and Bamboo fried rice. For dessert, we opted for the maple custard. While it may not seem like a lot, my date and I were STUFFED at the end of the meal. The tastes and flavors in each dish were so unique and bold.
I give this place a 5/5. We can't wait to go back.
